Local Aubigny Sports Centre Service Manager, Craig Lamb, is once again a Scottish National Champion in badminton after winning the championship titles in Men’s Doubles (over 45s) and Mixed Doubles (over 50s) at Badminton Scotland’s Scottish National Masters Championships.
The championships took place on 26th and 27th October in Glasgow. Craig teamed up with Mark Mackay in Men’s Doubles and Carole Begg in Mixed Doubles.
Racket sports have a strong presence in the East Lothian community, with facilities available at all of our sports centres. From tennis to pickleball, we cater for a variety of sports and encourage suggestions from the community to develop our courts for even more activities.
Craig Lamb said, “I’ve been playing badminton for years, and it’s fantastic. I’d really encourage anyone interested in badminton, or any other racket sports, to reach out to their local club or visit their nearest sports centre to give it a try! It’s not only a good way to keep active, but also a great way to catch up with a mate – especially during these long dark nights.”
Bill Axon, our Chief Executive, added, “I believe I speak on behalf of all of Craig’s colleagues when I say that we’re all extremely proud of him. Racket sports like badminton are incredibly inclusive, and as Craig mentioned, offer a great opportunity to catch up with friends.”
