Waiting List Update

Fitness class waiting lists will now clear 24 hours before the class starts. What changes for customers? You’ll still book classes as usual, with the waiting list available until 24 hours before the class starts. After that, any available spaces can be booked right up until the class begins.

This should maximise availability in all of our fitness classes.

Fitness Classes

We offer a wide range of fitness classes, from low impact, meditative yoga, aerobic and cardio workouts to strength and conditioning classes.  There are classes that include weights and equipment, others that just use your own body weight as resistance.

We’ve created a guide to help you decide which class is right for you:

I’m just starting out my fitness programme, which classes are right for me?

All of our classes have an index key indicating the level of intensity for each class:

* Low impact
** Medium impact
*** High impact

If you are just starting out, look for low-impact classes such as “Aqua-Fit”, “Funky Fitness”, “Stretch & Strength” and some “Aerobics” classes.

Whenever you attend a new class, please make yourself known to the instructor. This way they will be able to keep an eye on you during the class and provide additional guidance should you require assistance in mastering a technique.

Places can be reserved up to seven days in advance. Payment is required in advance for all class bookings.

Payment can be taken over the phone using a credit/debit card or online.

Yes, however, it is recommended that you call the Sports Centre in advance to ensure that there are spaces available.

TOP TIP!
If you plan to attend 2 or more classes a week, a Fitness Membership will definitely save you money in the long run!  And with a membership you can quickly, and easily book, amend, and cancel bookings online!

If you are unable to attend a class, please provide as much notice as possible, as this allows us to free up spaces for other customers. Fitness Members can cancel and amend bookings online.  If you have pre-paid for your class, please contact the Sports Centre directly to arrange a transfer or refund.

Cancellation Policy:

When advance notice is given, non members can receive a full refund or transfer to another class, subject to availability.

Loose-fitting clothing is best for exercising, eg. t-shirt, leggings, shorts and joggers as long as it is light and breathable. Please avoid long, wide legged trousers as you may trip over them.

Always wear suitable footwear – comfortable, supportive trainers. If purchasing new trainers, ask a shop assistant for advice and explain the sort of activity that you will undertaking.

We always recommend that you bring a bottle of water with you to each fitness class to help you keep hydrated. Drinks vending machines are available in the Sports Centre should you wish to purchase some water / juice before your class. We also recommend that you bring a towel, and if required your own exercise mat, although there are plenty available for use within the centres.

Before starting a fitness regime, please seek medical advice from your GP as to the level of activity you should be doing and what is recommended for you. At the beginning of every class, please notify the instructor of any condition you may have.

Each venue page has an online contact form where you can submit a question.

For urgent enquiry please call the venue directly.
