Macmillan Move More Programme 

Move More East Lothian is a physical activity programme which offers a range of activities, across the county, designed for people living with, and beyond, cancer.

As part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s national campaign to support people living with cancer to become, and stay, more physically active and improve health throughout their cancer experience, Move More East Lothian is a physical activity referral programme, delivered by enjoyleisure, in partnership with East Lothian Council and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Love to Move 

Love to Move is a chair-based, age, dementia and Parkinson's friendly exercise programme, developed by the British Gymnastics Foundation. The programme has been especially designed to improve movement, motor function, memory stimulation, coordination, flexibility and balance.

Get Going 

Get Going is a family healthy lifestyle programme, which aims to encourage young people to get active, eat well and work towards a healthy weight. The emphasis is on fun and feeling good. It’s about getting active as a family and working together to make small lifestyle changes.

Who is it for?
The programme is offered by NHS Lothian and East Lothian Council to all East Lothian families. It’s aimed at children aged 5-18, who are overweight or obese, and their parents or carers.

Ageing Well

The Ageing Well project promotes healthy lifestyles for people over 50 in East Lothian. The project is a partnership between NHS Lothian and East Lothian Council.

The Ageing Well project aims to maintain and promote the physical and mental health, well being and quality of life for people over 50 in East Lothian through a list of activities.

Some ways Ageing Well can help are:

  • Set up new activities where there is a demand or a gap
  • Help sign post you to activities in your area
  • Help you stay healthy and active for longer
