We want to ensure that all swimmers stay safe while using our swimming pools. Please take a moment to read the following rules. These may vary slightly from site to site and any guidance provided by our employees should be followed at all times.

If you’re unsure about any rule or need assistance, our team is always happy to help.

Supervision of Children

  • Children under 8 years must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person aged 16 or over.
  • The supervision ratio is 1 adult to 2 children under 8 years.
  • Children under 8 must be kept within eye contact of their responsible adult and must not be left unattended in the pool or in the changing area.
  • Parents and guardians should consider their child’s swimming ability and the depth of the pool during each session.
  • Non‑swimmers or weak swimmers must not go beyond the clearly signposted depth markers.

Clothing

  • Please wear suitable swimwear: items with zips, studs or heavy accessories can damage the pool surfaces, so we ask that these are avoided.
  • Babies and young children should wear proper swimwear or approved aqua nappies.
  • For everyone’s safety, specialised equipment such as face masks, flippers, hand paddles and snorkels should not be used.

Poolside Conduct

  • Please walk carefully on poolside and keep the area clean by removing outdoor shoes or wearing blue shoe covers.
  • Enjoy the water safely by using floats and inflatables as intended – standing or jumping on them can cause accidents.
  • Please keep behaviour friendly and considerate: gentle play is welcome but actions like pushing, pulling, or rough play can put others at risk.
  • To keep the environment clean, please avoid eating, drinking or chewing gum on poolside.
  • Diving is only permitted during designated sessions when it is supervised and safe to do so.
  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere in our facilities.
  • Please use the pool boom and equipment responsibly and as intended.

Pool Hygiene

To help minimise dirt and harmful bacteria entering the pool environment:

  • Please use the toilets and showers before swimming.
  • Babies/children must wear regular swimwear or approved aqua nappies – they should not enter the water naked or wearing a standard nappy.
  • Contractors, maintenance workers and any other person entering the poolside area must wear plastic disposable shoe covers. Supplies are available at reception and at the dispenser on poolside.
