We’re partnered with Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) to deliver Rookie Lifeguard, an exciting and educational programme for children to learn lifesaving skills.
Once children reach Swimskills 3, they’ll be invited to join the programme, which teaches self-rescue, survival, rescue, and lifesaving sport skills.
You can also register your interest for future courses, and we’ll be in touch once a space is available.
A child can enter a Rookie Lifeguard course from age 8 and progress at their own pace. The upper age limit for the programme is 16.
Monthly Membership Payments
Rookie Lifeguard membership is paid by monthly direct debit from a nominated bank account.
Monthly Payment £24.00 per month* Correct as of April 2024, subject to annual review.
*Access to Leisure Customers are entitled to a 50% discount on the standard monthly membership fee of £24.00 per month. However should the Access to Leisure subscription expire / terminate the direct debit payment will automatically increase to the standard amount. Further Terms & Conditions Apply.

Application Process Once you have been offered a place in the lesson scheme, you will be asked to complete an application form for the programme, and make an initial pro-rata payment at your preferred sports centre.
To comply with banking regulations, and to protect customers from fraud and identity theft, you may be asked for proof of photographic ID and bank account ownership.
