Following a five-week closure, Enjoy Leisure, East Lothian’s health and wellbeing charity, is set to reopen the swimming pool at Dunbar Leisure Pool on Monday 30th June.
Visitors will notice extensive refurbishments to the flume staircase and some of the pool features. A significant amount of work has also been carried out on essential maintenance and improvements such as pool hall lighting and heating systems.
Bill Axon, our Chief Executive said, “Projects of this scale rarely go exactly to plan, however throughout the closure, we worked closely with our partners at East Lothian Council, who coordinate our maintenance.
“We experienced a couple of delays, mainly the new fan for our wave machine, which unfortunately means it won’t be ready in time for the reopening. We’re extremely disappointed but this was due non-delivery of essential parts and we’re actively working with our contractors to resolve the issue.
“There’s still lots for children to enjoy at the pool, including the return of the water cannon and of course our flume. We can’t wait to welcome kids (and big kids!) back.”
