New AquaRun making a SPLASH at North Berwick Sports Centre

Thanks to support from North Berwick Trust, Enjoy Leisure, East Lothian’s health and wellbeing charity has unveiled a new AquaRun at North Berwick Sports Centre. The inflatable obstacle course features a rope swing and a range of challenges that test balance.

The new AquaRun was introduced at the start of September and has proved an instant hit with children. Suitable for ages 8 to 14, sessions cost £4.90 for 45 minutes and takes place every Friday. Bookings open one week in advance.

The AquaRun is also available for birthday parties and special events.

Bill Axon, Chief Executive of Enjoy Leisure, said, “Our AquaRun sessions at North Berwick Sports Centre are incredibly popular and provide a fun way for children to build their confidence in the water. This confidence is particularly important in East Lothian, where families regularly enjoy our beaches and coastline.

“Thanks to the generous support of North Berwick Trust, we’ve been able to introduce exciting new features that will help even more children stay active, challenge themselves and enjoy spending time in the swimming pool.”

Jane McMinn, Chair of the Trust’s Grants Group said, “We were delighted to be able to contribute to the replacement AquaRun for North Berwick Sports Centre’s pool as part of the Trust’s Community Grant Programme.  It is great to have supported the ongoing provision of such a fun and exciting piece of equipment for the use of local young people.”

Children will be required to complete a swim test before gaining access to the AquaRun.
