Frequently asked questions

Social sessions for pickleball are a chance for you to experience the new craze that is sweeping Scotland.

Social sessions are for both experienced and new players to the sport. They’re generally 90 minutes long and depending of the numbers that book, there may be some additional players which gives a chance for some rest in-between games and player rotation.

These sessions are not coached but our leisure staff have a good knowledge of the rules and you’ll normally find one of
the more experience players will keep you right.

Currently, we run social sessions at three of our sites:

Aubigny Sports Centre

Tuesday 11:00am – 12:30pm
Sunday 11:100am – 12:30pm

Dunbar Leisure Pool

Monday 1:00pm – 3:30pm

Loch Centre

Wednesday 1:00pm – 2:30pm

North Berwick Sports Centre

Sunday 11:00am – 12:30pm

If you’re not available at these times, you can book a court at any of our sports centres whenever there is availability.

Check out Pickleball Scotland’s page to find out how to play here.

No experience needed!

One of the reasons Pickleball is so popular is because its really easy to pick up! Although sessions are not coached, members of staff should be available to help you with the basic rules. You’ll normally find there are some experienced players in the group who will help you out – everyone’s very friendly!

We’re looking to expand our social sessions offering so keep an eye out for new sessions coming!

You can book a court at any of our sports centres, whenever there is availability. Each centre has bats and balls which you can use for the duration of your booking at no extra cost. However, the equipment is limited so if you have your own we suggest you bring it with you.

If you have a fitness membership with us, this class is free with your membership. You can book your space in the same way you book a fitness class – seven days in advance through the website, app or reception desk.

However, spaces within our classes are capped so we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you are interested in taking out a membership so you can book through the website or app and guarantee your space, you can view our membership options here.
