Employees Nominate East Lothian Foodbank for Charitable Donation

As part of enjoyleisure’s commitment to investing in our staff and local community, employees were asked to complete an engagement survey, within which they were given the opportunity to nominate a local East Lothian charity to receive a donation. For each completed survey, a nominal amount was to be donated by enjoyleisure to the employee’s charity of choice at the end of the consultation period.

While a number of very worthy charitable organisations were put forward, the East Lothian Foodbank was identified as the clear favourite, and was elected to be the recipient of the £150 accumulated from the survey responses.

As part of the employee consultation exercise, a workshop was organised to draw together ideas from across the organisation to identify ways of improving and enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction.

At this session, held at Meadowmill Sports Centre last week, enjoyleisure was delighted to welcome Peter Dicker from the East Lothian Foodbank, to be presented with the £150 donation. It also gave him the opportunity to explain how the donation would be put to very good use.

Manager of East Lothian Foodbank said, “It is very gratifying to have the support from enjoyleisure staff for the Foodbank. That we came out on top of the poll with staff is proof that the work of East Lothian Foodbank is being recognised within the community in East Lothian. We thank all the staff that participated and will ensure the money will be used to help people in food crisis in with in the county.”

enjoyleisure General Manager Bill Axon comments, “Employee engagement is essential for the continuing success of any organisation. As a community focused entity, we saw the engagement survey as an opportunity for our employees to make an additional contribution to their local community. We were delighted that the East Lothian Foodbank was elected as the nominated charity, as their tireless efforts assist so many in times of need across the county.”
