East Lothian is well known and highly regarded for the quantity and quality of golf courses that the county and its coastline offers.

enjoyleisure is responsible for managing two of the fantastic golf courses available in East Lothian: Musselburgh Links, The Old Golf Course, the historic golf course that dates back to 1672 and beyond. As well as the gem of a course that is Winterfield Golf Course, which sits on Dunbar’s peninsula.

Physical Distancing Measures 

The safety of customers and colleagues come first. 

We have been constantly monitoring the latest Government advice surrounding COVID-19, and along with guidance issued by the Scottish Golf and the R&A, both courses have been adapted to comply with current social distancing policies.

Latest Government Announcement 

Tee Time Bookings 

Following the Scottish Government Announcements on 4th January, we can confirm that the following now applies to golf bookings.

Only a single household group, or a group containing no more than 2 people from 2 different households can meet outdoors for sport, exercise or recreation purposes.  Where separate households are participating 2m physical distancing should always be maintained.

Please be mindful of these restrictions when making golf tee time bookings.


Travel Restrictions 

The Scottish Government has introduced new legally bound travel restrictions. 

Customers MUST adhere to the travel guidance and be mindful of the current restrictions when booking activities.

Golf Exemption

The Scottish Government travel restriction exemptions include travelling to play golf in a neighbouring council area provided it is within 5 miles of the county border. 

From Scottish Government Website - Travel Exemptions:

  • local outdoor informal exercise such as walking, cycling, golf, or running (in groups of up to 6 people, plus any children under 12, from no more than 2 households) that starts and finishes at the same place (which can be up to 5 miles from the boundary of your local authority area)

What does this mean for East Lothian? 

Musselburgh Old Links 

The above guidance means that customers residing in East Lothian, Midlothian, Edinburgh City and the Scottish Borders Council areas can visit and play Musselburgh Links, the Old Golf Course.  

Winterfield Golf Course
The above guidance means that ONLY customers residing in East Lothian can visit and play Winterfield Golf Course, as it does not fall within the 5 mile boundary of the local authority area.



Book Tee Times Online 

We're delighted to be able to offer our golfing customers the opportunity to book Tee Times for Musselburgh Old Links, and Winterfield Golf Course online!

Bookings can be made online up to 7 days in advance.


How to Book: 

  • Customers wishing to book online must register their email address with enjoyleisure.  If you are already a member, make sure we have your email address on file.  If you are a new customer, booking for the first time, you can register online too.
  • For Golf Tee Times, only one person needs to book a tee time slot, which is then reserved for up to 4 players. 
  • With a tee time booking confirmed, additional players can be registered via phone, or on the day. 
  • All players must register with the Starter (and pay any outstanding green fees) prior to tee off.
