Winterfield Golf Course

Winterfield Golf Course is a superb 18 hole links course located on the outskirts of Dunbar. Situated right on the coast it offers stunning sea views of the Firth of Forth, the Bass Rock and the Isle of May, with the Lammermuir Hills as a backdrop.

A par 65, covering 5169 yards, Winterfield’s coastal location means that the wind can play a major role in the game. With a long series of holes, which takes players out on a headland into the North Sea, it’s important to be able to manage your ball in windy conditions.

Winterfield Golf Course is open to the public daily, all year round. Contact the golf professional for tee times and availability.

Physical Distancing Measures

The safety of customers and colleagues come first.

We have been constantly monitoring the latest Government advice surrounding COVID-19, and along with guidance issued by the Scottish Golf and the R&A, both courses have been adapted to comply with current social distancing policies.

Winterfield : Social Distancing Measures PDF

We ask all of our customers to adhere to the measures in place, so that we can continue to ‘enjoy golf’ now and into the future.”

Thank you

Bill Axon,
Chief Executive, enjoyleisure.

Travel Restrictions

The Scottish Government has introduced new legally bound travel restrictions.

Customers MUST adhere to the travel guidance and be mindful of the current restrictions when booking activities.

Scottish Government Guidelines can be viewed here.

Golf Exemption

The Scottish Government travel restriction exemptions include travelling to play golf in a neighbouring council area provided it is within 5 miles of the county border.

From Scottish Government Website - Travel Exemptions:

  • local outdoor informal exercise such as walking, cycling, golf, or running (in groups of up to 6 people, plus any children under 12, from no more than 2 households) that starts and finishes at the same place (which can be up to 5 miles from the boundary of your local authority area)

What does this mean for Winterfield?

The above guidance means that ONLY customers residing in East Lothian can visit and play Winterfield Golf Course, as it does not fall within the 5 mile boundary of the local authority area.
